			<summary type="html"><![CDATA[phpCoder has scripting support (.NET).  I've looked into it a little and from what I've seen, we can create a mysql front end to our liking right withing phpCoder.  What's nice about this, is we don't have to write shit like syntax coloring.  Their controls will do that for us.  I'll keep this thread updated with my findings/progress.]]></summary>

However, the ability to send messages and post comments and bulletins from an app could be useful.

			<summary type="html"><![CDATA[the lotus engine will be utilizing webOrb for PHP, a free framework allowing Flex messaging and remoting to PHP server-side objects.

this means the lotus game client (written in flex) can receive messages in real time from the server, allowing the following features to be possible:

true turn based battle (or real time)
real time chat
real time trading

all remote object and messaging calls are also passed in a compressed binary format allowing for 10x transfer speed (1/10 of the network traffic).

			<summary type="html"><![CDATA[i've got the WAMP stack set up and working.  after downloading and installing apache, mysql and php individually and not having them configured correctly, i found [url=http://www.wampserver.com]www.wampserver.com[/url]. one exe, installs everything and configures it.  worked first try.  wampserver also comes with 2 web based mysql clients.

downloaded flexbuilder 3 (*puke*) and a few php ide's that claim to have intellisense.  interestingly, Microsoft Expression Web provides intellisense for php so that may also be an option.
